Headlight beam pattern seems 'weird'

2012 HSE with Bi Xenon, the car is new to us this weekend.
Driving to work in the dark this morning, flicked on high beam and got the trees on both sides of the road well illuminated, as well as the middle distance.
The light in the roadside trees would be above head height.

Something not set right, or is this normal please?
Thanks
Andy

The ones on my MY11 D4 were very good at illuminating the sky/trees, completely carp at putting the extra light on the road where it was needed. They were set up properly as low beam was perfect. Rolling Eyes

Norwegian tunnels are great for two things. Getting from A to B without going over a mountain and showing how rubbish my D4’s lights are. Thumbs Up

The headlights are easy to adjust with a Philips screw driver. I got my pointing on the road by taking it out one night on a back road and just adjusting them first the dipped beam then the main beam. They are much better now.

If you think they are poor try a facelift 14MY without any halogen spots, absolute crap, wife’s Mini has better lights, thank goodness I don’t do much night driving, don’t LR test their vehicles at night?- can’t fit cornering lights, no see me home rear lights. Come back D3 all is forgiven.

It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Not so sure, much prefer the MY13 Xenon lights compared to MY14 Xenons and with the later lights it’s not simple to add more lighting.

Thank you folks.

Your comments have put my mind at ease that the lights are working correctly; clearly not effectively, but nothing out of spec.

Next exploration is what addition lights to add; I will start a new thread.

Cheers
Andy
