Spare key still not working despite new battery
So I got the low battery warning for the smart fob, so I ordered a new battery and thought I would get two and do the spare key as its sat around not being used and doesn't work.
Replaced the battery in the key I normally use, tested all ok, no more yellow triangle.
BUT....
Replaced the battery in the 'spare' key, and still nothing. Deader than a dead parrot. Am I missing something? Is there a way to 'pair' the key back with the car?

Probably. But since I have had the car it hasn't. I just put it down to 'needs new battery'.

OK, to eliminate the possibility that the spare is from a different car, are the emergency blades identical?

But, whilst i had it apart I had another look inside the non-working key, and the board is loose, where as the one in the working key seems fixed.
So took it out and had a look, and this is the underside of the board.....
^^^ That's the area of the tailgate button.
Doesn't look too healthy......

HA! Was looking at that very item earlier as a probable route to solution!

I seem to remember someone on this forum doing key refurbishment . Always seems to get excellent feedback and a quick turn around. Might be worth trying.Gary

I've ordered a new key. Can't see this one coming back to life.

That member is RRUK, he replaced my chunky keys for slimline ones by swapping the internals.
