Land Rover warranty - take it or leave it?
With a possible house move to Dartmoor on the cards, I'm thinking that I'll keep the D3 but swap the Porsche 911 for a FFRR. 2013 ish This way I get the practicality of the 4x4 but with a bit more luxury!
As usual I've done my research and know that the 4.4 engine doesn't have the same potential issues as the 3 litre but there are fewer around and the road tax is significantly more; Land Rover do seem to have some good deals but with LR extended warranty (CarCare) not covering the known crankshaft issues with the 3 litre engine, is there any additional benefit from purchasing from LR?
My question though, is: buy the 3 litre from LR, take their extended warranty but take it on the chin that the crankshaft isn't covered; or tell LR to stick the extended warranty and purchase one from a 3rd party warranty company such as Warrantywise or Warranty Direct who I believe cover this issue?Land Rover 90 - deceased

I think it’s a 3.6 V8 diesel in the FFRR?
Or the V8 4.4 diesel, which is a very sweet engine.
I’m not sure if the V8’s suffer the same crank issues. But whatever engine you won’t be disappointed with a FFRR
Just realised you’re probably talking about the latest version, I was thinking last of the previous generation.Discovery 4 HSE

100% my error.
I don’t know why but I’ve never considered the latest RR as a FFRR.
With the overall styling of pretty much every LR so similar these days, the pseudonyms just don’t seem so effective these days.Discovery 4 HSE
