RRS TdV8 exhaust on V8 Discovery 3?
Just been looking at options for a slightly less discrete exhaust for the V8 D3. I've read that removing the resonator box does good things in that direction. I don't want to butcher my existing exhaust in case it doesn't work out and they're a terrible price if it does go wrong, but looking at the parts catalogue for the Range Rover Sport it looks from the pictures that the RRS TdV8 front end *could be* the same dimensions as the D3 V8 and it doesn't have the resonator. Can anyone confirm or disprove this?

Good question, I would like to know as well?
I have probably looked at the same stuff on You Tube that you may have seen when I started to look at costs of pulling it together £1000 + for SS options D3 2.7 Zermatt silver (not another one)

Ah shame, too much to hope for.
OTOH used TdV8 exhausts seem to be more available than D3 V8 ones, so I'm still tempted to get one and started hacking it around to fit than cut up my existing exhaust...

Won't fit. Different lengths
Which part is different, it would be easier to lengthen the pipes on the ground then put it on the car.
I too don't want to butcher my exhaust for relsale.05 V8 HSE Bonatti Grey

Would be easier and cheaper to have a stainless system made up by an exhaust fabrication centreMy D3 Build Thread

Ive been quoted £100 to chop the resonator out, but trying to find the new half system back for resale would be daft money!05 V8 HSE Bonatti Grey

Not done it on my Disco but did it on a previous car - had the exhaust guy cut the unwanted section out and weld on exhaust flanges in the gap. New straight through piece could then be 'bolted in' when desired and taken out when desired with the original resonator slotting back in as well. Certainly not the most elegant solution but it definitely did the trick.2006 Discovery 3 - HSE Auto

Has anyone chopped the resenators then? I am tempted as well but not sure how loud it will be as I do love the sound coming from the engine and dont want loud exhaust to kill it. Even an electric cut out is an option for when you want to a bit of exhaust tone!2005 D3 V8 SE
