Vibration when accelerating and decelerating.
Hello All.
A question for the knowledgeable of you.
When I accelerate I have started to get a vibration so I'm thinking the torque converter this started about 3 weeks ago. However now once up to speed say 50 mph all is fine if I accelerate slowly no vibrations if I accelerate hard without the box changing down I have a vibration. But if I take my foot off the accelerator I get a vibration like driving over a cobbled road, this continues until I slow to about 30 mph then all is fine.
My Mechanic who looks after it for me first thought the torque converter as I did but now we are both at a loss.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks.
Rich.

Thanks for advice.

Had a look under at the weekend a little movement in the prop shaft everything else seems fine. Looks like it'll have to go up on a ramp for a proper investigation.

Put it in low range, foot on brake and alternate from dive to reverse, if you get a clunk or a bump there is wear somewhere on the drive line, possibly a U.J. on a prop shaft.
TC usually rumble in the 27-35 mph range while accelerating, not decelerating, are your wheel nuts tight It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Looks like it is the prop shaft bearing and CV joint I think a new one is required.
