Battery changed from AGM to CALCIUM Question |
|
Hi
I have had trouble with my original battery an AGM, in my 2014 TDV6 D4.
The mechanic I go to replaced it with an EXIDE DIN88MF battery as he reckons AGM are no good in the hot areas. The new battery is CALCIUM
No BMS reset was done I believe. I also have a TRAXIDE dual battery with an AGM aux.
My questions are
1. Is using a CALCIUM battery OK
2. Do I need to get a BMS reset done.
My reading suggests that for my car it is supposed to be an AGM but can’t find concrete evidence that I can’t use a CALCIUM.
The BMS would I hope be set up for charging AGM, as that would be its original set up.
Changing it to now to charge for a CALCIUM battery may not be a good idea as this may cause over charging to the aux AGM. Not sure if this statement just wrong or not.
Hope you can help

You need to tell the car what kind and size of battery you have fitted in the ccf and the BMS needs resetting.
Pete. IID, webasto software and workshop facility's available.

CCF is car configuration file, you need something like the iid to read and change it. The bms reset is also done with the iid.
