Replaced my n/s headlamp the other week. Was a complete unit not just the bulb. Manufactured in 2006 but was brand new just been sitting around somewhere. Have sort of adjusted the beam for now but noticed it doesnt do the dance on start up. O/s is fine. Have checked fuse and that is ok. Is new headlamp no good or am I missing something?
I only swapped out the old one as had lost the kick but after removing I prodded it and it popped up. May try refitting old unit to see if that does the dance. 2006 TdV6 HSE.

The new one has AFS written on the top label does it ?

Yes. Definately AFS. Was very concious of that when looking for one. 2006 TdV6 HSE.

Put the original headlight back in today and all working fine now. Must be a duff motor in the new headlight. Everything else worked fine on it and no warnings were shown so bit odd.
Wish I had just taken the old one out and fiddled before buying another complete lamp unit  2006 TdV6 HSE.
