Major mess up or something simple.....HELP

Today I decided to replace the drain tube from sunroof passenger side to the outside world.

All went well, apart from bleeding hands, 5 hours and many many swear words.

Managed to get the fuse box out , find the hole get the new bend drain thingy in, fuse box back in, multi plugs in, glove box in happy days ...even tested the drainage at different stages...YAY!!!!! all works water runs away. That problem is that is sorted but now I have a car in dire striates.... start the car fine..... dash now tells me every door is open, I have a park brake fault, interior light stays on front windows don't work, suspension and high low do nothing .....oh boy have I done something wrong or what.

Trouble is I don know what I have done

I do know I made the grave error of forgetting to disconnect the battery before unplugging the fuse board...IDIOT

But apart from that

Guys have you got any ideas??

Have I done serious damage forgetting to disconnect the battery
Have I put the multiplugs back in the wrong way round (can the go in different slots?)
Has one of the multiplugs at the back not seated properly

Before I rip the whole thing out and start again, if you have any advice (apart from disconnect the battery) I would seriously appreciate it.

Thanks

Clive

No first hand knowledge or experience from me, but my 1st thought would be a plug not pushed fully home. I would however first plug in an IID or similar and see what faults could be cleared.

Possibly not seated correctly, when I did mine I think I checked if I could get them the wrong way around but cable was too tight to twist and fit in, and the connector had keyways on the shroud.

I also couldn't mount the fusebox back onto its fixings so it's tucked behind the carpet.

Try not to panic too much... It's very likely you didn't seat the connectors properly... Very easy mistake to make as I'm sure you know what it's like behind there! 😭 Deep breath and take a look with fresh eyes!

My bet would be incorrectly seated plug.
Remember to disconnect the battery first this time!

Are you sure you put the ones on the back of the BCM back in (green and orange). They auto delatch on the way down so you might have missed them.

if not a not-fully-seated connector, have a look at earth connectivity.

Recent experience with this. Found it a Censored to get the connections reseated.

Particularly, we found the connectors would not reengage properly if the locking slide was not correctly positioned.

If you look at the plugs themselves, the slide bar has a couple of end points. One is fully locked, with the bar oriented down towards the floor, and fully open with the bar up towards the roof.

When pushing it fully there is a subtle ‘click’ as it moves into fully open, and there is a bit of resistance to get it into this latched position.

Just make sure you have the lock slides latched into fully open position or the plugs will not properly locate in the sockets when trying to get them back in.

Had a fun filled couple of hours tying to work that one out.

Also, don’t know if looking at the electrical wiring diagrams would help, but I think, a lot of uninformed guesswork on my part here, the connections you want are on page 176. Just can’t tell you which of the connectors is c0586,but if you can figure that out and the pin assignments, should let you drill down to testing the cables for problems a bit more efficiently,
perhaps?

Guys, just an update for you.

Well as stated Monday was spent trying to sort the mess up.

You were right....it was the two plugs in the back of the fuse board.

So more swearing, further damage to the hands and a number of attempts all plugs were fitted correctly, key turned and she fired up with no warning lights or anything. Happy days and a big thank you for your words of wisdom, support and encouragement

Thank you
