| Disco 3 suddenly cut out wont turn over |
|
Hi i have a disco3 2006 100,000 miles
I was coming up the m11 yesterday when suddenly
Without warning it cut out on me luckily i was able to
Very quickly bang it into neutral and cost to the hard shoulder
I had full ignition systems but the when i tried to
Start it after doing a systems check the starter job st clicks
As if the engine has seized Aa came out check electrics all ok as i had done
So got towed home , i think it may be oil pump failure as i have read of this happening to others
I have as yet had time to investigate further but as it doesnt turn over not getting a good feeling about this issue
Any ideas folks

also check the main cable under the front of the engine hasn't rubbed against the diff and blown fuse

Hi , thanks for the reply , if this cable was damaged would it cause disco to suddenly cut out , but all other electrics working , dash lights etc ,
the starter just clicks so isnt this more likely the engine has seized as i have all other systems working .
i hope your right it would save me a fortune ive not had chance to examine the vehicle after it was recovered so going through all scenarios in my head good and bad

Do the lights go dim when it clicks ?
If no, worth checking cable and starter.
