Long Engine Turnover Before Starting

Hi All

I have a 55 plate disco 3 2.7 and when engine cold some mornings it can take 5-10 seconds of turning over before it fires up. A few times its kept going to the point i think it wont start and white smoke starts coming out.

Its not every morning either but unless warm it usually takes at least 3 seconds.

Is there anything that would usually cause this? Can i check / clean any parts that will help.

Just asking before i have someone look at it properly but thought i'd ask first.

Thanks in advance

Dan

Sounds like glow plugs. Can be checked with a multimeter. Thumbs Up

And hope you get more miles out of them than I did before mine started sounding distinctly not smooth. Big Cry Big Cry

I wouldn't bother checking the glow plugs.

Hello DSL, do you think that in your case there is a relation between the replacement of the injectors and the unfortunate events that followed?

I'd doubt it very much, thought I'm not a techie. From what I can gather it's the classic bearing rotation issue caused by sloppy design or shoddy manufacture. Or a peewee poor combo of both. Evil or Very Mad

Bitter, moi? Absolutely. Thumbs Up
