Should I have 2 Reverse Lights - Rodent Issues :/
Sorry for the silly question..
So my parking sensors packed up over the Christmas break, long tone followed by a message saying that the cameras are unavailable - I don't have cameras.
So last night I was backing up on the drive, I noticed that I had no O/S reverse light and when the car is in reverse the O/S brake light doesn't work, when I put it in Park or Neutral the brake light comes on..
Was just having a think about it and wondered if one of the bulbs could be shorting out somewhere.
to help with my thought process, should I have 2 reverse lights? 1 O/S and 1 N/S? I'll change all the bulbs later anyway but thought id check..
It's booked in to the dealer next week anyway, but if an easy fix I'd rather sort it, Its a pain in the for me to get the car into Derby for the day with no courtesy car available..Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black

Yes - mine has two as well. One white and one red.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.
So I pull my o/s/r light out last night after work.. and found this!
So as you can imagine, I'm a little worried that the creatures are soon going to eat through something more serious..
I realise that this damage looks more like a mouse than a Rat, but the poo found in the engine bay is certainly from a rat as its nearly the size of a mouse!
We have horse feed in the barn stored in galvy bins, we're pretty good with the hay and general waste. so I'm not quite sure how to solve this apart from traps and poison, Poison is difficult due to my moron of a dog who would no doubt eat the poison.. or the rat after consumption..
I'm not even sure that this issue has presented itself yet as this wire is for the rear fog, not reverse, I'm assuming its the earth maybe or on a can bus?
Does anyone know if you can get the wiring loom separate for the lights? It doesn't look repairable due to the proximity to the connector, so looks like a new light..
luckily enough there's one for sale on here for £35 which isn't too bad, I suppose I'll have to spend this weekend searching for any other damage and killing hose pesky rodents! Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black

My new D4 with seized had been stored for a couple of months before I got it.
When looking under the hood we found this. The former owner had spread food for pheasants.
We will now lift the body and start replacing the engine. Hopefully nothing has been eaten. By the way the mice had their hideaway under the hood insulation.

Just a small update,
I've replaced the O/S/R Light (Thanks Leesbay)
That's sorted the reverse light, rear fog and brake going off with reverse issue..
Now to the reverse sensors, I had a quick look underneath last night to find the little S ts have chewed through the rear main Sensor harness.. I know it could be worse if through a main harness, not just an add on, but still..
I could have repaired it IF the little S t hadn't chewed it literally as it goes into the plug so no exposed wire to join..
I know I could take it out of the plug and rewire it, but I'm assuming more damage so have just ordered a new LR015501 from Duckworths for ~£30 (Thanks Sophie/ Dan).
Great job for the weekend Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black

Same for me - they are up under the hood/bonnet insulation. Also under the plastic rocker cover on my xk8!

Sonic scarer under bonnet, jeyes fluid on the floor around the wheels. They use the tyres as entry area as that's all that's in contact with the ground ( unless they are into poll vaulting ).

I've had traps down under the bonnet for the last week hoping to catch them out but I think the warmer weather has stopped them residing in the car for now.
I can see under the bonnet, in the n/s wing, there's a cavity, just inside I can see various bits of insulation in small pieces ..
I'll replace the Parking sensor harness and hoover out as much as I can of the insulation, I'll act like the mouse travel lodge and make their stay as uncomfortable as possible.. Either that or start charging them and get myself on Trip advisor.. Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black
