Factory tint is usually in between the layers of glass on a laminated screen and the film for aftermarket tinting is inside the window, I know because I had mine tinted when I bought it second hand.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

Factory glass has tinted cellophane between the 2 glass sheets to make laminated glass.

Unless you are driving an armoured D3, the only laminated glass is your frontscreen. The rest is tempered glass, where the glass itself is coloured all the way through.

RRS rear is on the inside.
As poor loading scratches it off.

You have aftermarket tint film I’d suggest as you’re not describing OE glass which is ‘self coloured’

If, from the outside, you can see orange lines (for heater elements, aerials, etc.) then you definitely have aftermarket tint film fitted inside the vehicle. Factory 'coloured' glass is totally 'black' looking from outside the vehicle.
In picture below (random eBay advert pic) you can see the feint lines of the original glass shade band and aerial lines. You don't see that on 'factory glass'

I got a replacement rear window a few months ago, my old one was clear the new tinted and I asked the fitters and as above the glass is coloured the whole way through. He showed me the bucket of broken glass he had as he replaced a tinted earlier that day, full of coloured chips of glass.
He did comment that if the tint is stuck onto the inside it helps holding the glass together if it breaks where as factory tinted shatters like a normal glass.
