Auto High Beam Assist Activation
Morning all. I have a Landmark D4 and it does not have the Auto High Beam Assist which is a real pain as I had it on the last one. Can anyone tell me if this can be activated or does it need some special "factory fitted" hardware. ThanksBrand Loyalty Is An Expensive Business

As far as I know you need the correct mirror with the sensor in it and then it needs activating, I know I really miss it as I had it on my last HSE and it's not on the Landmark. Cheers Ian

Is there anyway to configure the sensitivity of this as I am not really impressed with it, takes ages to come on, will turn off when a road sign is to bright and will sometimes not turn off until the oncoming car is right in front of you.

Not worth the bother in my opinion. Takes too long to dip blinding on comers. Also if a car is in front but not facing head on - i.e. coming round a corner, it wont dip at all. You should be dipping your lights before you can see others headlights directly, the auto dip function doesn't do that and the other driver gets an eyeful of main beam for a second or two.
The newer models are no better either. I've been in an Evoque and a new D5, both the same.

AS HD says
Price of mirror £570
The last of the 6 speed HSE models think MY11 had this fitted as standard, but since then has always been an option.
As for adjustment the only thing that can be done is in the service menu where you can set it for driving on the left or right, this just tells the sensor what side it should expect to approaching lights etc.
Had it before and it worked very well for me, seems some have it working great and others not so great.D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST

Have it standard on mine, one of the last of the MY11 HSEs indeed. Tried it a few times and it's consigned to the "totally useless, won't ever get switched on again" box.
And no, my mirror isn't up for grabs.

My Landmark has not got HBA as well. Previous 2010 D4 hse had it with the surround cameras, was it not part of the vision assist pack?

My Landmark has it fitted and works well, I thought that it was standard on Landmarks ?
Also have it on our Landmark, one of the options that it had, works well, only time it gets confused is when in fog, never had anyone give me the beams because it hasn’t dipped.

Silly question, but do you have the lights set to 'auto' and the stalk in the centre position ?
Refer referring to the knowledgeable Hairy Dans’s post, I don’t think on the later models the sensor is in the mirror, on ours there is a sensor mounted just below the rain sensor, looks like a camera lens.

My MY14 HSE has it, but I had to specify it as an extra.
Works brilliantly (unlike the rain sensor which is poor).

Washwipe, I was just checking that Saltydog had his set to auto, in case that was the problem
