Looks like my FBH is no more as I've had it checked over by the dealer and they say its faulty.
it hasn't fired over the cold period and Bell Autos Intelligent Controller won't work either, so not wanting to pay the ridiculous cost of a new one I'm looking for a replacement.
My Disco is MY2008 on a 57 plate, the dealer has quoted model number JEC500820 (confirmed by label on FBH) however I've seen other models on websites that look familiar but have different model numbers like, JEC500790, JEC104520, JEC000599, LR030843, LR012503.
Does anyone know if any of these will work?

Hi
Not sure on the part no's you've listed but the name is a "Thermo Top V" unit, worth trying 4 x 4 breakers etc,i got one last winter at a fraction of the cost of new, with a 3 month warranty and so far this winter has worked flawlessly when needed.

Thanks,
I know for a fact JEC500790 and LR030843 are Thermo Top V's so would like to be sure they would all work.

You have to remember that Stealers aren't webasto experts, well not the ones I've dealt with...
Theres another thread on here with info of webasto service centers. I'd go that way first before replacing the whole unit. They are pretty basic units really and if its somthing like the flame sensor thats faulty you'll get it repaired a lot cheaper than the cost of a new one.

The Bell Autos intelligent controller should clear any faults if any however the controller struggles to even connect to the FBH, when it does after a while it doesn't fire with the RF blip.
I also made up an ODBII USB cable to test using the Webasto software but still it couldn't "see" the FBH, I'm presuming for starters I have a internal electrical/connection problem with the FBH??
How easy are these things to remove and disassemble?

The one on Ebay LR030843 has a year of manufacture of 2011 so presuming this model is for a Disco 4?

Hi Rob
DONT get a D4 one as the pcb inside works differently to a D3 FBH so it will not work as it should. You can use any pre 2010 FBH from a D3 or RRS but after I think 2006 they became a little better and more reliable at starting when cold so possibily try for one of these.
It could be a possibility that only your pcb is faulty which comes out fairly simply if you could get hold of a old one from somone to test.

Also, if you need to buy one, don't buy new, try ebay and salvage first.
But be sure to get a guarantee.
I did when I had my D3 and it worked for me ...... saved many pounds. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
