Boost Valve changover noise
I recently towed someone else's caravan so for the first mile or so on country roads I had the windows open to listen for clunks etc.
There were a couple of hills to climb and the engine was working reasonably hard.
What I heard shocked me as in 4 years I've never heard it before. It was like a dump valve from a modified 90's ford rs turbo. The noise was obviously during the changeover to the second turbo but it was a really loud ''PTSSSHHH" noise.
I'm hoping its normal?

Mine does it occasionally too, wouldn't worry about it, hoping it's normal as well
That sounds like you have a sticking TSOV valve, if its 2500 rpm and is it from the drivers side of the car ?.

Sounds like it, yes drivers side. I wondering if it coincides with the 'supercharger' type whining noise which comes and goes through the boost stages.
