Air Dryer filter replacement et

Hi I have a suspension fault on my landrover and have just purchased a new air dryer faceplate repair kit. It comes with ali face plate filters dessicant and o rings. I dont want to take out the compressor just want to replace items insitu. Filters faceplate all straight forward but how do you replace the dessicant i to the dryer

Know that this question may be stupid but I have limited tools to get everything off. This fix by the way is a trial to see if its the face plate causing the problem or not. If this dose not work its off the the dealer for new compressor but thought i give the new faceplate and filters a go first

Any advice would be appreciated

Terry

I've just changed the 'face plate' of my Hitachi compressor and though I could have done it without removing the compressor from the car, I had to take it off to replace the 'O' ring seal at the bayonet fitting.

I did try to get at the screw securing the drier to the pump, but my flexi-drive was just not flexible enough.

I believe it is possible to get the drier off without removing the compressor and IIRC an other member has reported that he did it.

Wouldn't like to try and replace the desiccant while on the car but it might be possible if you form a paper tube with the new filters at each end and the beads in between, ready to push into the housing.
