I have a D3 that I locked by using the key fob and the next morning unlocked in the same way but the NS front door did not unlock so I tried using the dash button but nothing new happened. So I tried to unlock manually from the interior door handle and I could feel the cable pulling but nothing was happening. - I understand I need a new door latch mechanism but my question is how to open the door to be able to change it????? its a good thing that I had no one in the car when this happened!
I appreciate all you advice and comments
Thanks

Hi. What you need to do is have a fully charged battery, then get into car and simultaneously press the unlock button on your console and pull the offending door latch holding the smaller locking lever as well.
Worked for me but it's hit and miss depending on the condition of the duff lock actuator.
Give it a try

Just had this with my drivers side rear door, unlock car wind window down, hold release and unlock lever out and use other hand to operate the outside door handle, this opened my door multiple times.
Got new lock actuator assy from ebay half the price of dealer and cheaper than the factors, genuine part as well. front doors may be different price wise.
