First saw Ken Dodd live at the Glasgow Empire about 1960. It was first house on a Monday. The theatre was about a third full and those in the audience were mostly in because they had complimentary tickets provided to try and get some sort of an audience. My mate and I were there because of the free tickets. This was a regular technique. Don't remember much about the show. There was Doddy with his mass of unruly hair and the teeth. The Empire was the death of numerous artists in those days. I grew to love and appreciate him later. What a man. I found him side splitting.2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone.
