Cost to Supply, Fit and Program Compressor |
|
Hi
Has anyone had a new compressor supplied and fitted recently to their D3? If so, what was the price as I have the orange light coming on intermittently and reading the faults, the C1A13 Pressure does not decrease when venting gallery, then today my wife is driving down to Oxford and the Red Light has flashed up then went off leaving the orange light on, so I think the compressor may have issues with the drier, and from what I have read, cleaning this is not a guarantee - therefore thinking of changing the unit completely.
Any recommendations as to who can replace it in Leics would be appreciated!
I had the plug on the rear nearside that goes into the valve replaced through corrosion, the valve was replaced due to the corrosion leading to one of the pins disintegrating, so not sure if it can be anything else, but open to suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

I bought compressor for £299 and reservoir for £95 and fitted myself in a couple of hours, it's not a difficult job to do, so wouldn't be spending anywhere near a grand for it

I paid about £400 for the updated D3 compressor in April last year and £100 to have it fitted. VR6 > 330D Touring > D3 HSE > !?XC90?!

It might depend on whether you go to a "real" Land Rover dealer, an independent Land Rover service or "all brands" service shop. I requested a few quotes last week for a few different tasks from each of these and the price range was .... very wide.

Thank you for replies. The fitting it ect is not my concern, it was more about the programming post replacement - but having received a call from a very knowledgeable gentleman today - will look to get the instructions to update the software and fit compressor myself.
Thanks again.

The new compressor will run with the old software until you have chance to update it, a new relay switch should come with the new compressor, make sure you fit it. Genuine LR compressors are expensive but they do come with 12 months warranty It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I suppose there is a different piping requirement for the replacement compressor in question, so would anyone have a document to help understand what needs to go where before I take things to bits?
Also got to downliad the new software for the ecu, which looking on the BB website seems easy enough, so once i am happy with what needs to go where, will check wiring in ns front wheel arch, replace compressor then pray it cures it
