Believe me, it got shaken to the point it belatedly occurred to me I might be damaging the other bulbs 😐
Might try the hoover idea but I can see glass right down at the front bottom edge. I can see the front plastic has clips at the top but are these "one time only" clips, so break when you try to unclip? Wary it's expensive if I try and they do break..

unfortunately I found that out after swapping the bulb for one closer to original spec just in case it was triggering the MOSFET by taking too much current.
when I then re-tested, walked round front of car this time and saw other side also off.
started car and both lit up ... swapped back to brighter bulb and both sides now work.
guessing it was a duff connection somewhere ? I'll have to keep an eye on that.
