Valeted and shiny...
I've never had any car valeted before, as I've always done it myself, but I haven't had time recently so bit the bullet and booked a mobile valet company
2 of them were here for about an hour and a half the other day, and the car was immaculate afterwards
The interior is spotless, and stubborn marks on the piano black inlay have gone, as have marks on the alloy interior door handles...they used a brush and a solution so I need to find out what it was as they're like new 8)
Really deep wax shine to the paintwork and the rain beaded and ran off yesterday.
Don't know what they wiped the steering wheel with though, but it's shiny so I need to sort that..other than that I'm very happy.
I don't know what others pay for a valet, but I thought £35 seemed like good value considering they came to me and did it on the drive ?
I'll continue to do it myself, but I'm going to get them to do it once a year I think

Seems like really good value to me I pay £15 for the local Polish foam wash which takes about 6 minutes.. And I thought that was okay.

I've heard bad things about the 'Hand Car Wash' brigade. Like, using patio cleaner to wash cars with, because it's cheap, and gets the dirt off quickly. It's also acidic!Richard

Mine gets washed at the service. Luckily that's an annual occurrence, wouldn't want to wear the paint out.

£35 is good. I've used a couple in the NE and £50 seems to be the going rate for the full monte.

The only bit I didn’t want shiny was the steering wheel, so after hearing good things about Gliptone I bought some and got to work.
Used the intensive leather cleaner on the wheel and drivers seat, and both are now matt and much better.
I’ve tried various leather cleaners and conditioners over the years, but I have to say the reputation of this stuff seems to be well deserved...no way you would think the drivers seat has seen 73k miles, or the steering wheel

I think your steering wheel is on upside down
£35 is really cheap for a good valet, which yours looks like it is. £50 - 70 is more the rate in the south. Your black grille with the red looks Discovery 4 SDV6 HSE '65 - Projects in planning phase!

Euan I think I will be investing. The roads around my way at the moment are shocking, every tractor seems to be out and about and my car is very grim. Think it may be potato related, plus there is a lot of ploughing going on.
Rear windscreen is caked in dog slobber on the inside and the outside has a ton of mud over it. May wait till spring but for £35 that seems like a decent investment.
It just scraped through its MOT also which was pleasing, just needed a brake line at the back. One side was literally corroded to nothing, the other original steel one was fine ? Not sure why to be honest but it has passed.James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Euan I bet the solution was diluted All Purpose Cleaner, and then dressed in a trim dressing of some sort.

Been using Gliptone on my interior and yes, it's specifically good on my napa/perforated leather steering wheel.
Also gives the interior a nice 'as new' smell ...... and if you want to keep it smelling like that, get some Gliptone air fresheners.
I bought around 20 a couple of years ago, and still using them. I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.
