EPB Failure - mechanic recommendation in Warwksre/Midlands? |
|
Morning all,
My EPB decided to seize up last night. In fact it picked its moment - at a work BBQ in the office car park where it screamed & shreaked until it drew in quite an audience..
It wasn't budging or releasing with the IID tool but fortunately a passing engineer pointed out the emergency release cable, which after a lot of tugging eventually let go of the park brake so that I could drive home.
Now that I'm unstuck, can anybody please recommend an indy or mechanic in the Warwickshire/Midlands area who would be able to strip it all down, clean it up and reattach the park brake cables? I've heard it's relatively straight forward but would rather leave it to the pros.
Any recommendations much appreciated!
Cheers,

Hi, I had the same issue a few months ago, I stripped down the rear brakes, cleaned everything up and replaced the pads and discs as I was building them back up. Having stripped it right back, I needed to re-adjust the break shoes. After doing this.....handbrake worked a treat. I think it was Disco mikeys guide I used. I'm not very mechanically minded but got there in the end.
