Suspension Check

Been looking for an idiots guide for checking suspension components. I can just about identify my arms and bushes etc but have no idea of how the MOT man decides if there fit or sh Censored t.

Can't find a guide here on how to "test" each bit as per MOT. Does anybody use a resources here or elsewhere to do a pre MOT check?
