Has anyone had their disco 3 remapped?
Has anyone had their disco 3 remapped?
How much was it?
How much more power did you get?
How much more MPG did you get?
Does it cause any short or long term damage?

I had my D3 mapped over 7 years ago with an Autologic map, it makes it the car it should have been. Took it to around a claimed 245 BHP, I was insured with Prestige at the time and if the remap added 25% power or less they didn't increase the premium.
It was a manual and I regularly got over 600 miles without driving like miss daisy, although you will have fun first!!
That car is still running round quite happily with no problems from the remap and a happy new owner.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

I got a BAS remap at 90,000 miles, upgraded the intercooler and fitted a deCat. A great improvement in power and torque. That was 112,000 miles ago and it has caused no problems. As for improved fuel economy, forget it. Its no worse, 26.6mpg over the life of the old bus with mixed driving and towing.
The great thing about the BAS remap was that I could take it off and put it back on if I went to the dealer for a software upgrade. Things have moved on with the Gap's IID but I'd give Pete a buzz at bell Autos. He is a sponsor on here and very helpful. Just be aware that not all remaps are the same.New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

Just doing my insurance renewal and noticed that the price comparison sites now don't just ask about modifications but actually have a faily specific set of tick boxes that includes levels of remap, so be warned failure to declare if asked is fraud and could null and void your insurance.==================================

I have always wondered with second hand cars, how do you know if it has a map or not, so how do you tell your insurance?

excellent question Beretta. How do you tell if a car has had a remap if the previous owner doesn't declare it?

it should be a selling point, why wouldn't you declare it as a seller?Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Because many people assume a remap is boy racer territory and dont want a motor that in their eyes will have been thrashed.
Ive sold cars with remaps before and never mentioned them.

Been in this exact position in the past
Bought a Fabia vRS from a main dealer. Ran it for 2 years. Got bored and went to have it mapped.
On the Before power run, it was already making 161bhp/275lb ft
Would have been interesting had it been in an accident where it was investigated...My D3 Build Thread

Just had mine done at the Peterborough Show by Alive Tuning
MPG is the same if I drive at the same speeds in the same way as before it was mapped, however, as its got loads more get up and go I have found I am enjoying the added power and fuel has dropped to very low 30's
Mileage is 133k and removed the EGRs at the same time
Its like a new car
