Can I have a price check please 🙄

Hello all,
Can I caveat I am not a mechanic nor even a hobby mechanic. I am also located in Cyprus which adds another dimension to my story 😁
I recently went to have my tyres changed. During this process the guy at the fitters said my rear bushes were shot. I had felt some rear vibrations and occasional squirming. I took my disco to the garage for a service and the rear bushes. I received a call the next day saying the bushes were stuck tight due to severe rust. They have since spent a day and a half burning the bushes out, using leavers and heavy force. The guy said all upper and lower bushes were done for and under inspection the fronts were equally failed. He said 16 (I think) in total needed swapping including some sort of arms. He said he was guessing that it would require another day and a half of rust wrestling to sort everything. I can verify its very rusty in places, it used to live in soggy Cumbria on a farm I believe.
My question is for this amount of parts (mostly genuine LR due to availability) and this amount of labour, plus the service (oil and all filters etc) plus hunter alignment....... does 2400 quid sound steep, about right or a bargain?

What do you guys think? I don't really have another option but would like to know where I stand.

Cheers all

Jamie

Its mainly going to depend on their hourly rate.
Quick google/ebay will give you an idea of the parts prices

That's a good point, I,m afraid I don't have the part numbers.
I was hoping that Geoff or one of our resident mechanics / engineers would be able to give a rough estimate 😉
Are you out there Geoff and co ?
Cheers

Don't bother trying to change the bushes, just cut the bolts and fit new arms all round. Thumbs Up

Fit the rrs ones, for a guide price look at Advanced factors website, then as said factor in the Labour.

Good luck
Thumbs Up

Crazy if they'd spent time taking bushes out, especially if they are just putting normal bushes in.
Anyone who deals with D3s should know to just change the arms.
3 days seems long.
I did my front lower, rear upper, track rods and stabiliser bars in less than that, and that was on my driveway in Highland weather.

We in the UK would just do the arms as labour is so dear plus finding people who can remove/refit bushes isnt as easy as you would think, plus I would guess in Cyprus its mend and make do like the olds days over here, hence they rebushed it.

Labour is cheaper here, however , parts are not. I don't really have an option, just wanted a warm feeling that I was in the right ball park 😁
Cheers for your replies all
