Sick D4
Hi Guys,
My poor 2010 D4 seems to have a number of electronic faults, I was wondering if there's an common cause that's easy to fix.
- Suspension fault
- Camera fault
- Bluetooth phone integration stopped working
There seems to be a physical air leak in the suspension, when parked for a few hours it goes down to the bottom stops, but the compressor works fine and it will happily change height quickly on demand.
A local garage said there were multiple CAN bus errors:
P0615 Starter relay circuit
P250A Engine oil level sensor circuit
P0195 Engine oil temperature sensor circuit
O4175 Invalid data received from abs control module
P0607 control module performance
P060A Internal control module monitoring processor performance
U0415 invalid data received from the ABS control module
C0063 Lost communication with the yaw rate sensor module
C0126 lost communication with the steering angle sensor module
U0132 lost communication with the ride level control module
C1D18 localization failed
Any ideas gratefully received!

Battery was knackered indeed, I had it replaced a couple of months ago, but still getting the errors.D4 HSE, Active Rear Diff, surround cameras, adaptive xenons, heated steering wheel, TPMS, remote park heating, centre console cooler box

Alternator up to the job? Might be worth running the engine and, using a DMM, seeing what the volts numbers are at the battery terminals. See what it is with no electrical load, then everything, esp heated stuff, on. If that last number drops to 12.something then the the alternator is prob goosed.
Would voltage shown in secret squirrel menu be worth checking too? If it doesn't match DMM then car may think it has a fault but might be bad earth for instance..

Hidden menu - exciting!
It was too dark to get the DMM out, but engine off it was reading 12.2V, engine on it was bouncing between 13.8V and 14.0V.D4 HSE, Active Rear Diff, surround cameras, adaptive xenons, heated steering wheel, TPMS, remote park heating, centre console cooler box

Key thing for the alternator is under load.
And invest in a head-torch!!

Hmm. The alarms and fault messages are pretty well the same as came up on mine (see 'Odd behaviour') and initially were attributed to failed insulation on a bus cable located under the driver's seat (LHD). After repair (section of cable cut out, new insert soldered and insulated) and a period of trouble free running, the faults reappeared and the finger of suspicion now points to the gear selector switch, which is due to be replaced today.
Will relay the results....

Switch installed, faults cleared and car running. Time will tell.
