Hi, Jumped in the disco this morning, turned the key, lumpy smokey start & EML on. It pulled off the drive at a snails pace.
Stopped, plugged the IIDtool in & got a P045D code. Cleared it, restarted, no EML, let it warm up a little & drove it. It feels well down on power especially at low revs & also reporting 10/12MPG rather than the usual 22/24mpg
I've occasionally had a EGR error code before but no noticeable issues other than occasionally smokey starts.
So reading on here symptoms & issues other have experienced it looks like the EGR's are on there way out.
I'm not 100% sure on the best way forward though. Being a 2007 its the newer engine which I understand can't have the EGR blanked because the EML light will always be on? I've also read about a remap to stop this. Is the possible on the later TDV6 engine?
Which is the best way forwards & which is the most cost effective? If I have the EGR's replaced it will be the third set in the vehicles history & best part of £1500 / £2000 i guess at the dealer.
Does anyone have experience of anyone in the south Devon area that can do the blanking & remap on my 2007 TDV6?

I also have a EGR failing.
Disco 2007 model.
I am in New Zealand and am interested if I can get a remap in some remote manner.
I also have a local service garage who has a Auto Logic computer.
Can the Autologic computer just delete the EGR from the computer ?
I already have a blanking kit that I have not yet installed.
Do I get a remap from BAS or look at others such as Alive.
With the 2007 disco which will be best to stop faults from the EGR's.
I ended up with replacing the EGR valves to solve this problem.
I understand that you can blank the valves & then resolve the EML light issue if it does come on on a EU5 engine by a remap. A company called Elite was mentioned but I never took the idea further so can't coment on them nor the process.
