Good Afternoon Folks,
Firstly let me say hello as a new member to the site and as a first time Disco 3 owner!
After spending the last couple of months carrying out a facelift on my recently purchased 05 HSE she has passed her MOT with full marks today. Now before getting ahead of myself I would like to get all the major/advisable servicing done before taking her on her maiden voyage and was hoping to get some feed back on what the essentials are.
Thanks
Danny

I'm no expert but think you'd need to state mileage and year of car?
Disco Mikey in Dundee (not TOO far from you) gets a very good rep on here - might be worth getting in touch with him and getting him to check the car over.
I've no personal experience with his work, but a couple of friends have had their Discos in and rate him very highly. I'd use him if I was closer. 2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze

Thanks for the reply Scott
It is a 2005 HSE Auto with just over 80K on the clock.
Have heard good reviews of Mann Automotive in Laurencekirk which is a bit closer to me, any feedback would be appreciated.

All I know is that timing belts should have been done. After that, I'm in the dark.
I'm sure that others far more knowledgeable than me will be happy to guide you - I've had a lot of excellent advice since I joined the forum. 2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze

Hi,
Download the service checklists - pdfs available on online.
They detail what is needed at each and every service based on mileage and age etc.
These are what the dealer service departments work to.
You also want to check the usual suspects of lower suspension arms/bushes, track control rods, track rod ends, air suspension pump, air conditioning, oil/water pumps, radio/stereo, etc.....
Also worth checking front/rear brake disks and pads all round, rear electric hand brake, and rear brake pipes - always a favourite on the MOT test....
Cheers

Cheers Pete/JC,
I was fortunate enough that it passed with no advisories so hoping that gives me enough time to get servicing side of things done before the fist mechanical failure!

Hi again,
Do you know for sure what has been serviced/fixed/repaired prior to 80k miles?
Also do you have IIDtool or other diagnostics?
Cheers

All oils should have been replaced already, as part of its 10 year service... If in doubt, replace them anyway
If no history of cam belts or oil pump, these should be a priority My D3 Build Thread

Can't be many people who take their 10 year old LR to an LR dealer for a 10 year service. £££

Whilst hesitant to ask, does anybody know what the 10yr service should typically cost? Assuming belts were done at 7yrs.
Having just bought my 2007 D3 HSE I'm keen to keep the history up to date!

Why does it have to go to a dealer for its 10 year service? My D3 Build Thread
