Work light suggestions pls
Looking for a worklight that I can fix to the bottom of my Load Lugga, either magnetically or via cable ties. I'm not looking to change the car so something that's removable, would power it via the rear ciggie lighter that's preminant live on the crank battery.
Thinking about this as it fits the bill, and isn't too expensive.

That style of inspection lamp are quite good impressive amount of light for its size, but its common to find the truck has gone out and the lamp is still magnetically attached to the chassis! 8 weeks later if you remember it will still be where you left it

Got one of these at pboro show last year £30, brilliant and massive magnet on base, also used for pitching tent in the dark! Saw them cheaper on ebay a few weeks ago
and a 3 foot long led wand - low/high white plus red flashing as an option
comes in packs of two
hook at both ends - great to suspend over engine bay at both ends
the wands charge from standard USB so keep a adapter in the carMY05 Discovery 3 G4 LRG4C-14 Stage 3 & 4 Bolivia Team Fleet 49

I got a folding sealey rechargeable light bar from AF couple of years ago. Awesome light, clamps to the bonnet or upper tailgate by spring loaded hooks

I could do with something like this. I was unloading the bikes from the tow bar mounted bike rack in the dark after a mountain bike after work session with some mates. Had to drop a bike at each house which meant it was a triple faff then get the bike rack off on my own at 22:00.
I guess either something like this, or a light/light bar mounted on my roof rack, although I'm sure that would mean a lot more in depth wiring!

It's the "occasional" aspect of the requirement that led me down the plug in path - as opposed to a permanent fix.
It's not clear from the photo but these ones above are on a magnet mount.D3 07 SE - still going strong

Same here, I'm trying to not massively modify the D4. All mods must be easily removable, aim being get the car back to standad in a couple of hours.
The magnetic ones are of interest as they will fix onto the underside of the Load Lugga.

It's a good strong magnet and also has a felt type pad so you don't worry about fixing it to the car.
If you are intending to leave it in situ when mobile, I might consider a more permanent fixing else it come away - possibly falling on a passenger?D3 07 SE - still going strong

I wonder if going for a semi permanent install would work. Maybe finding a light that would just fit into the cigarette lighter to power it, but mount it permanently so its secure. Best of both worlds then.
Does anyone make a remote controlled switch that you can plug into a cigarette lighter then makes it live, then off with a remote wireless switch. Might work easily??
