Hi i have a 2007 2.7 auto discovery but for the last year or 10000 miles it seems be make a quite whooping sound only when you press the acselerator it dose not make it free wheeling has any one else had the problem

torque converter by the sounds of it. Quite common to be noisy. Bodsys Brake Bible

Might pay to video the noise so we can hear it as my tc makes noises on the overrun but none under load.
Any extra smoke when accelerating hard?

Ok thanks if its the torque converter dose that mean its on its way out and how big a job is that to do ie over a pit or take the body off job thanks
