As for the rear bumper removal - its easy just a little fiddly - the hardest part is the removal of the rear mudflaps as the screws are rusty and to get good pressure on them i found best to jack the car up and remove the wheels one at a time!

so sequence is as follows;-

- Remove rear mudflaps - three screws in each

- Remove one push type plastic clips from inner arch [one above the mudflap]

- Remove the four screws from under the bumper [along longest edge either side of towbar housing]

- Remove the towbar plastic cover

- Then the fiddly bit - open the rear tailgate and lift the flap which drops down between car and tailgate, with the lower part of the tailgate slightly lifted you will see four plastic 2 part push clips - remove these

- Remove both rear light clusters [2 screws in each and unplug the loom to each]

- Now you will see a 10mm [i think] bolt one either side of bumper - loosen these off but dont remove yet

- next you need to pop both wheel arch trim [lower part only] by just pulling gently from bottom

- Then you will see another plastic 2 piece push clip hiding in a slight indent - remove these [one either side]

- Next you need to pull both sides of the bumper [the part which runs along the rear panel upto the arch] away from the car [directly to you]

- Now you can remove the previously loosened 10mm bolts and the bumper will be simply balancing on the rear part of the chassis

- Now with out letting the bumper fall off the chassis you need to pull the bumper toward you [rear of car] on the nearside as this is where the wiring loom is plugged in

- If you spot the cable from the bumper you will see that the plug [connectors] are screwed to the body

- you need to flex the side of the bumper down and then remove the screw

- Then you can pull the connector apart [one side has a clip which needs pressure on to release as you pull it apart]

- Once un-clipped simply pull the bumper directly to the rear end of the car and it will come away

Try and lay the bumper on a dust sheet or something soft as it will scratch easily on concrete or tarmac drives etc

- You need to push the top bumper trim from rear edge of bumper toward the inside edge of bumper which will then allow you to pop the trim up leaving the clips in place along the inside edge of the bumper, to then remove the trim you need to pull it up vertically away from the bumper and the trim should pop away one clip at a time......

- This will expose three large screws with a 10mm head/torx head - remove these [they hold the internal wiring loom foam in place]

- Flip the bumper over and remove the foam - the loom is pushed into this

- Then remove the plug from each sensor and remove loom

Now your ready to replace and reverse the procedure

Was it a genuine sensor you replaced? I’ve had issues with cheap ones...

You need an IID tool or similar really to see what each sensor is doing

sorry hijacking the thread, didn't realise the iid can get live data of the sensors

will have see if i can find the menu , thks for the heads up

No worries, there is so much stuff to remember with these cars. It's all on the forum somewhere, but finding it isn't always easy!

something like live data, parking?, then you have to select the 4 rear sensors.

Put it into reverse etc. (probably handbrake off too)

It reads 2.5m for not sensing any obstruction.

just coming up to a years ownership and agree is surpring how much needs to be learnt with these

regardless of the work i've done , inc the headlining removal , etc and another etc , i've enjoyed every minute and can't wait till it's all finished to start getting away for some off road weekends
