EPB module
Hey people.
My EPB has been off for awhile now but to get it through the MoT I need it working
Well it all started when I was getting the motor noise when I was putting the EPB on, then it just went no I'm not releasing. So I had to pull the emergency cables and took the fuse out.
But now I guess I need to replace the module, I have seen some on eBay for around £250 but they don't cone with the cables.
What sort or problem has pulling the emergency cables caused? Is it a simple as just replacing the module and attaching my existing cables?
Thanks.

Ah! I believe it's something to do with photobucket. I'm not sure how people are getting around this... hopefully someone will help with a way of viewing the images.

if I was to buy a 2nd hand module from say EBAY, is it as simple as taking the old one out and putting in the new one?
Can I use the existing cables that's are attached to my old one the new one, ive seen some for sale without out the cables.

I read somewhere about putting it in service mode (or fit release the epb using an iid tool) and then adjusting the slack out of the drum brakes. It hasn't worked for me though. Next step is to try with an iid tool and completely strip and service the drum brakes to make sure they aren't seized.

This is a pic of the inside of mine when i had to relatch it.
The red bit i added to the pic shows where i started with a screw driver to prise the cover off after removing the torx screws.
I think the pic shows it re-latched after the emergency cable was pulled.
The brown splined bit is the thing that needs winding back.
You would have to get this far and a bit further if you were going to change the unit and use the existing cables.
There are two videos on page 20 of Disco Mikey's guide.
