Ice/Frost warning

Does my D3 (06 S) have an ice or frost warning? I've only had it a week and when I went out today I got two or three single 'pings' with no other warning message. After the last, I saw that the outside air temperature read 5C and there was a little snowflake to the side of it. I can't find any mention of this in the owner's manual or on an internet search.

Thanks in advance.

A ding (or a bong) as a little * appears before the temperature when it gets to 4°C or less. That is all.

Should it? Confused

Mine only 'bings' when it gets down to to 4 deg. It doesn't bing again when the temp rises........

Ice / Frost Warning

My 05 TDV6 bings when the temperature drops to 4C - a snowflake symbol then appears to the left of all temperature displays of 4C or less. Haven't noticed a bing when the temperature rises above 4C.

I've also noticed that following a cold start in the morning when the temperature's been for example 1C, the snowflake symbol appears to the left of all temperature displays up to and including 5C rather than 4C.

"Get a Life" I hear you say! Rolling Eyes

Edit - Mine binged this morning when the temperature moved up from 5C to 6C

Mine lights the snowflake at 4 and turns it off at >5 so there must be some hysterisis in the systems (makes sense....)

I think my ext temp is reading a bit high, as the other day it showed 3 when the bonnet was covered in a good layer of frost.....
