Roofrack LED Light bar wire routing |
|
I've looked all over the board here and wanted to know about routing some 10GA wires to a roof top mounting LED light bar.
Looking up the appropriate current draw, looks as if they suggest 10 ga. wire. I will be using relays and a wiring harness, that is pretty much good for the run from the battery/alternator to supply the lights on the roof rack.
Could I run them inside the cab, up the A-pillar, and into the headliner space, then bring them through the fitting on the front of the Thule Roof rack rails, which I think are stock to me D3 2005, SE.
Also going to be mounting a CB with a rear right antennae which I plan to run into the back of the rig, like someone on here had posted.
I may be able to reduce the wire size to 12 ga. if I limit the length of the run. 2005 Land Rover D3, 4.4L V8, Maya Gold Metallic

I routed a 10GA cable (only the positive) from the second battery tray behind the external A pillar cover until the top where i have made a little cut to get the cable along the plastic trim under the rails.

So first thanks for the reply.
Secondly, from your discription I am assuming that a small portion of the wire would be visible at the wind shield as the wire transisions from A pillar to roof moulding?
True or not?
not worried about weather proffing just wanted to make it invisible. Maybe a picture? is there one in your gallery? 2005 Land Rover D3, 4.4L V8, Maya Gold Metallic

You can tuck the wiring in under the roof rail cover.
