Multiple fault Codes and I am far away from home
It usually happens when I am abroad. Multiple lights in the dashboard and a screaming wife at home. Glad I tought her to handle the IID tool App.
She just mailed me the fault codes she was reading.

Can the First 2 ones be the root cause for all the others to Show up? She also mentioned some unusual black smoke under acceleration.
Any suggestion where to Start?Achim

p0299 points to turbo issue if I remember right, seized linkage? But I may be wrong, it has been known.
Plus if 06 D3 as per your profile you need yer EGRs blanked.
PS I lived with the recurring shutting down because of turbo fault for a few months, I just knew what would trigger it and was careful. And was skilled in doing rolling shutdown & restarts. Great fun on the motorway.

Actuator was moving freely when checked 3 weeks ago and I replaced the Large IC hose by the blue silicon hose last year.
Wife was just telling me that "F" and "E" came up in display as well. When the "E" Code comes um the Engine Will Not crank.Achim

Battery is 9 month old, so is the alternator. It charges at well above 14 volts. However the battery - no engine running - is at 12,2 volts as per IID metering.Achim

That's a good bit low (12.2v) for a charged up & healthy battery. What's the alternator putting out under load, like with heated everything on?

12,2 seemed low to me as well. Will check when home again.
But then...the black smoke under load?Achim

Black smoke can be split intercooler hose, big one being the usual suspect.
Don't forget could be more than one problem/issue.
PS Ignore that, just seen new hose. Leaking intercooler?

Achim,

Black smoke indicates lack of sufficient air to engine, has an intercooler pipe blown off or split?- even silicone hoses split, any signs of oil leak on the intercooler body?
If the EGR's have not been blanked that is most likely the problem

Update real quick.
ECU behind battery - LHD D3 - connectors dry and no corrosion
Charging voltage and battery ok- checked by Bosch service
New brake light switch fitted - was driving around with a spare one as a precaution anyways
Brake light bulbs replaced by new ones
Next to check are the wheel speed sensors. Need new pads in front and disc / pads on rear to pass TÜV
Will remove spare wheel and look for broken wires
Whatelse is suggested to check?Achim
