Maybe borken wire or corrodes /wet connector on can bus under vehicle - park brake module, electronic rear diff if fitted, auto box and transfer box. Plug on / in auto gear box?
where was that wire rub behind wheel arch thingie again, right hand front ?
Egr and turbo seem unrelated to the other ones. sensors are wired directly into engine control module. Check and clean MAP sensor. (Sensor on top of inlet manifold, betweeen the clinder banks.) Quick check and clean of mass airflow sensor might as well be of use. Sits where the air filter cap/hose connects to the air intake.

Just a quick update of where I am.
The black smoke disappeared when I replaced the IC with a new one. Right under the exit of the IC where the big hose is connected to I found oil leaking from the IC. Thanks to the great "how to" from angelfire I managed to get the IC changed. Nissens IC costing 176€ plus an entire Saturday.
But I am still struggling to find the root cause of the fu g F fault codes.
Next change of the fuel filter as DM suggested once. Will also check wiring behind the spare wheel if weather permits on Saturday.
Saga will continue. Achim
