Cracked roof glass
Discovery 4, 16 plate. we used the third row seats for the first time, August 2017.
It was then noticed that the roof glass is cracked.
you can feel the crack inside, there are no cracks outside, outside layer ok.
Has anyone else had a roof glass crack like this.Just cabhappy

I had one crack on my D3 but it was my own fault. From the inside out but never leaked.
Got it changed on windscreen insurance.. £70 excess, however watch out for your glass limit as these are not cheap. There are only a few companies that will attempt it.
Good luck!

Had an argument with my insurance company about the roof glass, they said it wasn't covered as it wasn't stipulated on the insurance!
I proved that the make and model all had glass roofs, they then covered it with £100 excess, year later they wouldn't quote......
Autoglass seem to know what there doing but any issues argue your case.

Having realised from this forum that not all Insurance companies cover the glass roof as standard in the same way as a windscreen I always ask the specific question about the roof being covered. Not all do as the previous poster says..

Found out a few weeks back whilst getting my windscreen done that my insurance policy specifically states it doesn't cover sun roofs, or panoramic roofs. It's purely only windscreens or side windows.
Will be looking elsewhere next time.

We had a Discovery sport until last month and found a large crack in the pano roof , luckily it was insured with LV who cover this unlike many insurance companies.
I did check with LV before buying the car as I had seen a few post on the DS forum re cracked roofs , mine was replaced through Autoglass with no issues . Believe it would have been £2000 plus if you were paying yourself .

Glass roof cracked
I have had my glass roof replaced by my insurance.
It was not covered by the window section of the insurance, but was classed as a bodywork repair.
Autoglass could not do it direct. the repair was done through Nationwide Crash Repair Centres Ltd.
I have my vehicle insured with swiftcover. I had to pay the excess.

Got a two foot crack in SWMBO’s Disco Sport. Auto glass couldn’t fit it in before Christmas so will ring them again next week.
Company vehicle so ‘on account’, no insurance to deal with.
Crack is on outside, tiny chip in centre. Crack was couple of inches when first noticed it.
