clutch position not learnt
got my car back from the garage yesterday and was told that there was a fault they couldn't solve - 'clutch position not learnt'. they told me they couldn't communicate with the module/system so could solve it.
any ideas on where I can start looking? been cleaning ECU's and plugs like they are going out of fashion. there are plugs on the rear diff for the motor (not been able to access them yet) but also wondered if I can look anywhere else.
cheers in advance

First you need to get the fault codes read. You want somone with a decent diagnostic tool to print the codes for you. Then you will start to get an idea where to look. Richard

Richard - done that. Garage then said they couldnt communicate or clear the fault ( or further diagnose? Not home right now but will put codes up to assist any advice

Attached fault sheet. Had a look online at poss cause. Faulty wiring/faulty connection. Will investigate unless anyone else had ideas?
Where would this be?

I had a similar communications issue. Checked continuity between clutch pedal sensor and large block connector on chassis behind n/s/r wheel and found a broken wire there.

I'm assuming yours is a manual? Mine is an auto. Same solution?

Don't know mate, I'm now confused you have a clutch fault with an auto ! Lost comms faults are often broken wires and I know the 2 blocks at the n/s/r are vulnerable so I'd check there for sure.

gyislander - its confused me but I am told its not a clutch as in transmission. its the rear diff (which currently doesn't lock out).
I am going to have a crack at cleaning the plugs and box where you said and also try and solve the issue below - I had a look under the car last night and spotted a random wire - what are your thoughts? could this be the culprit?

its the black plug behind the wire. spare wheel is there (pic is taken thought the gap in the alloys). I'm still clueless also - had wheel out and also really looked about in and around - it doesn't seem to have a home whatsoever.
