Which V8 Disc kit brands? |
|
I'm about to order a V8 brake upgrade kit from AF; just like to ask for your experiences of the different manufacturers.
Steve is currently offering kits from Borg&Beck, Meyle and TRW all for similar money, so I'd like to know if there's any noticeable difference between the three. Longevity / feel / bite etc...? '06 D3 TDV6 S Cairns Blue

Try and go for the EBC Greenstuff pads very very good, they do seem dear but are worth every penny, cheapest place for the EBC pads is Island 4x4.

I have just had the Borg & beck fitted with the pads that come with it in the kit and all is good. I have driven a thousand miles around France fully loaded with roof tent and camping gear and they stop you very well. Just to point out I only have fronts done The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;

Replacing a worn set of standard TDV6 brakes with ANY V8 upgrade will give a noticeable improvement in braking
However, the Greenstuff pads do make a huge difference on their own, even with the standard V6 setup. Having sampled a similar upgrade after fitting to a customers cars, I had no issues with putting them on the wife's car
But a set of 6 pots came up at a price that was too good to turn down My D3 Build Thread
