Sunroof not working even after reset.
Hi all,
My sunroof is not working. I tried Moody's reset fix and it runs through the cycle but nothing after that. I tried this last week but the battery voltage was a bit low. It now has a new battery that is fully charged and still the same result.
I am assuming that it must have power to do the reset proceedure.
Any thoughts on what to look at next.

When you put the new battery in you didn't make the mistake of saying "Right, that's everything sorted". Bad move!!

I found this from Robbie buried in another post. Not sure I understand how to check it all, other than fuses. But will have a look for bad connections.
Am I right in thinking that, if the reset proccedure move the sunroof there must be power so the fuses are good?
What about a hard reset. Is that worth a try?
Robbie's post below.
quote="Robbie"]Well the only thins that can stop it working are:
Quote:
Fuse(s) blown
Circuit fault
Switch fault
Motor fault
So things to check:
Quote:
Fuses Battery junction box (BJB) - link 11E BJB - link 15E Central junction box (CJB) - Fuse 20P
Battery junction box (BJB)
Central junction box (CJB)
Wiring harness
Loose or corroded connector(s)
Roof opening panel motor and control module
Roof opening panel switch
The sunroof control module is worth looking at too:
Quote:
The sunroof control module is mounted on the rear of the [sunroof] frame, and is connected to the motor at one end as described above, and to the vehicle electrical system at the other. It takes the inputs from the vehicle, such as LIN (Local Interconnect Network) bus signals and switch signals, and controls motor movement appropriately. It also contains the algorithm for the anti-trap system.
As the pin out on the sunroof control module can bypass the LIN:
Quote:
NOTE :
Pin 6 is for use in an emergency only in the event of the vehicle LIN bus not being functional. It is not connected on the vehicle harness or in the connector.
NOTE :
Putting pin 6 to ground will enable the sunroof control module but without one touch operation or anti trap. The sunroof will not require re-calibrating unless the battery has been disconnected.
NOTE :
The sunroof control module will remain awake and enabled until pin 6 is disconnected again. Under no circumstances is this pin to be left grounded for long periods.
Hope this helps.

A bump and update.
I have checked the fuses and they are good. But I thought they would be as it has power to do the reset.
I have checked the switch for continuity which seema to be OK.
Then did a hard reset.
It ran through the recalibration all fine but still nothing after that.
I don't really know how to test the wiring into the switch, so some help on that would be most welcome.
Anyone got any other thoughts on this?
It looks a simple system in the diagram so happy to try and test the circuit just not sure how.
Cheers

If I've understood the above correctly, you should then get to operate the sunroof but need to hold switch until it's as open or closed as you desire ... No autostop and won't recognise anything in the way of it closing.
If it does work in that state, it must be the controller..

Cheers Dean.
Is that pin 6 on the connection block into the switch?
If it is, do I earth that on the back of the plug when connected to the switch?
Sorry if the q's are basic but I'm just way out of my depth. Trying to pick it up fast though.

Reading the quotes in previous post, it must be on controller itself as it says there isn't a wire to it in the connector.
Also, looking at the diagram does it imply there is an inline fuse ? Or possibly one in the module itself?.

It looks like the control module is in the other overhead console.

Will try the module in the morning. SWMBO says it is time to stop playing and have my tea.
Had a look online for the cost of a module ouch
Thanks for your help, I think I have got my head around it now. What confused me was not understanding what the module looked like and looking in the wrong place

Unfortunately Dark Bluie didn't have a sunroof so can't help you with pre-enjoyed parts.

I haven't got one either. It's just a bit of glass in the roof at the moment
