Rear Park Sensors

Put my mountain bike on the bike rack and slotted it into the LR hitch for the first time on the weekend. Naturally it hangs down a bit and as soon as I put th vehicle in reverse the sensors went off - continuously. Is there anyway to prevent this happening? Note, the MY08 does not have a switch to turn the park sensors off, as I believe earlier models did.
Cheers,
Martin

My 08MY D3 has a button in the same place as my 05MY did, in the dash next to the hazard light button

How interesting! Mine has the DSC switch, a blank plate (where I reckon the disable switch was) and then the Hazard light switch. Is that where your's is Slimer?
Cheers.

My D2 did this for 6.5yrs while I had it, couldn't turn them off either. Do you spend long in reverse? Very Happy

Yes, from memory there's the DSC button, the PDC one and a blank (where the TPM button would be if it was fitted), I'll check and take a photo later The End

I thought the rear park sensors were disabled in software when the towing electrics were connected - that is why as well as having the electrical harness fitted there is also a software update needed when fitting the towing kit. Certainly that happens in mine. Did the switch not only allow activation of the front sensors - I don't remember it deactivating the rear sensors.

As mine is an "s" model it does not have front parking sensors, but I have the dash button to deactivate the rear ones.

Do you know why? Seems ridiculous to not have the switch. Not being able to turn them off would be a PITA in the bush.

Well looks like I'll have to live with it Sad Still, I guess it's not like I'm covering 100's of Km in reverse with the bike rack on!
Cheers.
