no surprise, i dropped it for a week and no progress, i needed it and got it back. now hes asked to come on monday and he will fit it right there and then. is it possible? does it need more than a day? ive asked for the part number and hes saying he wants the money for it first. i got pretty vexed and told him that if he aint giving me the part number, then i aint even gonna pay him or go there. i told him that i need to check with LR specialists (you all) that it is the right part and that im sick and tired of making rounds.
hoping to get that today.
please let me know your thoughts on this. is it really possible to do within an hour or so, while i wait?
thanks a lot guys,
really frustrated now.

According to Hayes manual it's gearbox out.
When i had my clutch changed they damaged a loom that passes near to the gearbox. Gear sensor was not affected, but IIR correctly, no special programs, and i think the lights on the TR did not light up.
However garage admitted their fault and corrected issue straight away, and were apologetic and polite.

thanks Andi,
so i finally went to 4x4 challenger, they sorted it all out for me!
they said that the gearbox position was incorrect, they corrected it and reattached it and resynced it. and calibrated it, all works perfect now! parking sensors working now, no transmission fault showing, no yellow park brake warning light, cruise control working, reverse lights working! the number of things that stopped working because of the XYZ sensor is unbelievable.

Glad it's all sorted
These cars can be a 'mare at times, and can be hard to diagnose without the right kit, and also D3/4 knowledge/experience.
