Passenger Footwell Soaked ! |
|
Morning to all you Disco Drivers,
I'm happy to say I've just privately bought a 2014 HSE Lux & have just signed up to this forum, hello to you all !
Can anyone please advise me on where I stand regards two issues I have found on the car already, I've been advised by my local dealership that the car is now out of Manufacturers warranty but are these issues something that they should deal with.
1st Passenger footwell carpet soaked, not left window or sunroof open.
2nd intermittent knocking sound around passengers door area.
Grateful for any feedback.

Welcome
The water in the footwell sounds like a common 'Sunroof drain blocked' but I'm sure a more knowledgeable person will be along soon Iggy/Ieuan

Welcome !
Your sunroof issue is a common thread on here (and nothing overly to worry about). Use the search facility to help you fix if LR do not ...
The knocking sounding is a bit trickier to identify Where is the sound coming from
There was a recall for something similar IIRC - i'll try and hunt the thread down for you .... Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

I think the fact you have bought privately will mean LR will not be obliged to pay for the repairs. I am sure they will investigate and repair the problems, but be prepared for a very hefty bill.
On the other hand, the sunroof drain is a strong possibility and easy to fix (providing the pipe hasn't come off behind the CJB)
Knocking noises could be suspension bushes. Mine needed replacement at 70000 miles. Reasonably easy for the competent mechanic. Reasonably expensive when someone else does it.

Is there a glossary of the Acronyms that appear on this site? Most I can deduce but a few eat into my cryptic crossword solving time. What is CJB? The mind boggles. 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.
