If it's not Bluetooth, do you have to plug this into a laptop to work? Will it work with Mac OS X?

You don't need anything else. Just plug in this IIDtool into the diagnostic connector under the dash, then a menu appears on your cars dashboard and you scroll through the menu with the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel.
Really very easy. Here an example, it is an RRS, but exactly the same: https://youtu.be/vXzFDaiSmhM2017-...: Disco II Td5 auto, 1999, BAS remap, HD TC and auto box Ashcroft, Allisport IC, ACE, 2" lift only coils, BF goodrich KM2 265/70R17, FF front and rear bumper, TF steering guard and tree sliders, nanocom.

There is a USB lead with one of these. You then run a program on your laptop and access the IID tool through that. The none Bluetooth is not as colourful nor as user friendly as the Bluetooth version but it is still as capable and will do everything it's more expensive counterpart will do, including code reading + clearing and all the mods and testing you could want as well as live data. Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control
The 1st Ever RRS Modded Grill
Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.
D4 Steering Wheel.
Rear Boot Spoiler.
Twin Brake Lights.
Wing Mirror Indicator Repeaters.
Long Roof Rails

I'm not scared, I'm outta here.

Promised the tool to woffmister.
Shipping cost for small packages Belgium -> UK is about €17.
Thanks Narpy for the extra info, I never used the PC tool, there is indeed a USB link with the tool, but I only used it to update the tool software.2017-...: Disco II Td5 auto, 1999, BAS remap, HD TC and auto box Ashcroft, Allisport IC, ACE, 2" lift only coils, BF goodrich KM2 265/70R17, FF front and rear bumper, TF steering guard and tree sliders, nanocom.
