[Wanted] Prospeed roof rack |
|
Due to impending addition to family we will shortly be regularly using one of the pop up seats in the rear when we are all in the car. (gonna be family of 6!). I am assuming this will make it a bit of a squeeze when we have pram + shopping and overnight bags in the car and it might pay to have a permanent rack of the top.
As such looking for a Prospeed roof rack so I can easily chuck prams and bags on the roof during weekend trips, and longer holiday road trips etc.
Ideally with floor panels and rear ladder, but prob can't be fussy!
Located in Suffolk.
Also, any other regular roof rack users tips for strapping methods or tarp covering?
Or perhaps overkill and I should try to use my towbar bike rack for pram in these cases, but wont be able to get pram and bikes on at same time. 2006 Rimini Red D3 SE

Get yourself a couple of boxes or bags for puttig in smaller items - but take care and don't buy them too big as you have to get them up and down all the time.
For boxes, wolf boxes etc, there are millions to choose from.
As to bags, I actually prefer these. I have had various of these over the years but the ones I am using now are actually fold up pushbike bags:

They are a little smaller, have a handle and also a case for themselves when not in use and ideal for the bits of stuff I take camping, like sleeping pats, pillows, etc..

ah, that's very helpful. I see that these types of bags have built in straps for each of securing, that makes sense.
thanks! 2006 Rimini Red D3 SE

If not Prospeed then TomIk has a Frontruuner for sale (in sale section) & is fairly close. I can get bags custom made (heading off until 16th, feel free to nudge me after that), Dolpants has one, as does Airborne Medic.
Family of 6 - welcome to my world!! Paul.
