D4 Restricted Perfomance - again
Still getting the intermittent fault red triangle - Indy believes its an air leak, as when tested on the diagnostic tool it shows pressure imbalances, but is struggling to find the leak.
They are doing a smoke test this week - I know what that is based on another member on this font of all knowledge site doing one himself and posting and fixing his issue
My question - how effective is a smoke test if a potential leak really is that tricky to find?
Has the TSOV been checked out to make sure its not stuck?

Hi Mick - yes - the TSOV was replaced in early April following the initial Restricted Performance - all OK again for a few weeks, then it came back again - then Actuator repaired and Manifold Pressure Sensor replaced - OK, but lots of flat spots, and then eventually the dreaded 'RP' again.
When the TSOV failed I got a very distinctive whistling noise as apparently the turbo was forcing air into the airbox - no such noise on current round of RP

Mine had a vacuum pipe at the bottom of the engine that was failing under acceleration therefore causing the valve problem between the two turbos and the reduced performance warning to show including the red trianglelife is tooooo short.enjoy the moment.dont worry be happy

I've just had a new compressor fitted to my 2015 D4 and one of the symptoms was 'Restricted Performance' as well as 'Normal height only available'
According to my garage the restricted performance message was all connected to the compressor problem as it made sure I did not do any fast cornering when the compressor was not able to compress/strengthen the side of the suspension that took the weight of the vehicle when cornering !!
Does that make any sense to anybody /
Sure Rob Penrose had same issue & was fixed with a fuel sensor on an MY10Paul.

Duncan - ISTR yours was fixed at Williams? - if the guys at the Indy are still scratching their heads post the smoke test, I'll bite the bullet and go back there.
I had a D4 with this error and a new fuel filter housing fixed the problem..

Mick - was the fault also causing flat spots?

Mine sounds a little different. I had the yellow warning triangle, and restricted performance message. However I had no actual restriction in performance. Car still ran fine and the warning was intermittent.
I didn't have the IID at the time, but I believe it threw up an error relating to the water in fuel sensor, which was replaced and no issues since. Common issue I believe.
