What you packing jack......wise

I am heading back to the UK Monday, so I started to look at what jack to buy to replace the LR one, whilst there. This is just to keep in the car for the odd wheel change.

Did a search on the forum and it seems the two preferred are either the Sprinter or SSG bottle jacks. However further reading suggests that both of these have issues. See links below.

To those that have thrown away the Sprinter jacks, what are you using now?

To those that had issues with SSG, what are you using?

I bet the Sprinter jacks have been replaced with SSG jacks and SSG jacks with Sprinter jacks. Rolling with laughter

Apart from DG who is still using the LR jack Wink Thumbs Up

Sprinter jack was skipped after 2nd use when it pished its oil everywhere. Just carry the standard one hoping I don't have to use it. If I have a puncture out & about I'll call the RAC, UK & Euroland. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

At home I use one of these. Unfortunately that's neither my jack nor my Fewawi. Big Cry Big Cry

Bought but not used yet a Hilka pro 3 tonne for which I'll make an adapter... Using a suitable socket with a bolt through the square hole. Will post pictures when I get round to making it.

Also, having seen the "safe jack" jack stand discussion on here yesterday, I'll see if I can do something similar ... Probably only for use at home, thinking of space in the boot.

Which I did. Whistle Whistle It now resides in a mid Wales landfill, sans oil. Thumbs Up

Oops, thought we were talking re Sprinter.

Re standard jack, have used mine without issue but have also seen someone else do the same and it stripped the thread, dropping the car. I wouldn't trust it unless I absolutely had to. Thumbs Up

I use one of these, can be inflated with a small tyre compressor using the schrader valve on the side of the bag instead of the exhaust port Thumbs Up

Bit like my Takla, off the compressor rather than trying to bung a tube up half the exhaust. Last used in anger on last Pyrenees trip, great when used in conjunction with axle stand. Thumbs Up
