Is it possible to retrofit a 8 gear box?

Why?

I owned the 8 and now I own the 6 and I do not see big differences.

I personally prefer the 6, the 8 changes gear too often without using the high torque of the SDV6 engine Discovery 5 tdv6 HSE Corris Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

I hav changed from a six speed D3manual to a eight speed D4 and I agree it changes gear too often

No, the 8 speed auto using different CAN signals compared to the 6 speed and wont communicate. The 6 speed wasn't fitted to any vehicles once the 8 speed came along. 1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8
