Just seen that too. I could see price hikes coming and fixed my and my parent's rates for three years a couple of months ago. Suggest people look at any long term fixed price deals that remain. 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: FL2 as a second car
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!
(One of only two known to exist in the world!)

Always amazes me the amount of people who don't shop around come renewal time and go for the best deal.
I always stay away from the big 6 and have managed to almost halve what I was paying last year.
The only requirement is that everything is done on line, which n my case is not biggy.
I do feel for those on on prepay meters and the elderly who get stung at every turn.

If a company doesn't make a profit how does it improve services and infrastructure or give staff pay rises? Remember the parent company doesn't only supply electricity there is a whole lot more there as well. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

i'm with british gas and just received a monthly direct debit review
so from the 1st sep / gas £35 , elec £49 per month , £20 per month more expensive , dual fuel
been going through the go compare , supermarket and see edf is currently the cheapest
always nicknamed them extra dear fuel
certainally won't stay with BG and find a fixed term elsewhere , quite a few to choose from

Did you try Uswitch, they claim to be impartial. I've used them the last couple of times I moved.
I tend to steer away from Gocompare and the annoying bl00dy meercat!

Coincidentally, I have just moved using uSwitch.
Saved myself just over a third on what I was paying.
If you've never swapped your service providers or think you want to remain loyal to one company because you've been with them for donkeys years, believe me, you're paying too much and will be getting ripped off to the tune of several hundred pounds per year.
There's no hassle, you don't have to have new meters, dig your driveway up etc. etc. The only difference you'll notice is you'll pay your reduced monthly outgoings to a different service provider.
Just do it. Mods:

^^^^^^ this
I have no loyalty to energy companies and usually switch each year to take advantage of the 'New Customer' deals.
Had a previous supplier, paid monthly who paid me 3% interest on any credit balance I had.
Switched when we moved last year and the deal is almost up and due for renewal, account still in credit and will be looking around for a better deal.
In this day and age (if you can) I don't really understand why people don't shop around, same with banks who offer deals on their current account.
I've spent £60 on a Santander Current account in the last year and they have paid me over £500 in interest
