Although i've only dealt with the parts department in the past, the whole operation is run and operated by people who know & use the product - better than your average 'town' dealer!

They are a good family run business. Have known them for years. Their MD lives 2 doors down from my mum.
Nice people to deal with.. shame they couldn't offer me the right deal when I bought mine.

Many thanks - went there today. They were extremely helpful. So far they're top of the list - hope they can produce the right deal.
Many thanks,
John

Eventually bought from Lakeland - see topic above. Duckworth were excellent, but just didn't have the right deal. No complaints with them other than that.

I have nothing but praise for Duckworths - although I have (unfortunately) never bought a vehicle from them - they have serviced my previous three D2s and will be looking after my new D3 when a service is due. They have a free collection / delivery service (on a trailer) and nothing is too much trouble. Everyone within the dealership, from Martin and now Ben Duckworth - through the technicians and office staff are all enthusiastic about Landrovers - just have a look at Ben's G4!! They were the only dealership willing/able to fit my roof lights on my Expo rack and the job was perfect. Even though you may not have bought from them - if you're in that area, I would suggest they deserve serious consideration re after-sales.I was taught to be cautious.

Just had mine in for a couple of days of warranty work - EPB squealing, new door seal, new rear passenger door lock, creaky seat. I also mentioned a "slight" knock on the steering wheel when going up kerbs/over pot holes - I didn't think it was much. Turns out that it needed the bottom half of the steering column replaced. Crikey, I thought it was smooth before, now it's very very nice!
Just new (to me) niggles I guess, but the whole experience was excellent. Very pleasant guys that know their Land Rovers. They took the time to explain all the work they'd done (I always like to know), there were no problems over the warranty stuff. Had a good chat about the EPB. Their advice was just to leave the car in park unless the handbrake was really needed. Car came back valeted and on time. There's a really nice busy 'buzz' about the place, and they've got a very very smart G4 D3 that's just come back from Africa with all the kit on it on display (still covered in sand!). I had a FL2 loaner, but could have had a D3 if I'd waited a couple of days, but the timing didn't quite work for me. Boy, did I miss my FBH, heated windscreen and seats this morning. I had to scrape the window clear.... jeeeezzz! FL2 is a nice car, very glad I got a D3 rather than a FL2. I did like the fact that there's a decent place to rest your right arm in an FL2 though...
Mention the forum if you do end up going. They knew of it, and were keen that I told others about them.

Duckworth's
John
Have received your pm - I was confident in recommending Duckworth's and it is reassuring that your experience has mirrored mine. Ben's G4 is awesome with all the toys he has on it!! He tried to persuade me to go to Morocco with them but I just couldn't afford / justify it. Perhaps next time! From time to time he does organise off-road days in Lincolnshire and I'll get in touch next time he arranges one.I was taught to be cautious.
